Hamworthy Hedgehog Rescue

Tachypnoea

This is poor Lucky, the hog that was believed to have been clipped by a car wheel and had his scalp torn open, and his jaw broken.

He has been in intensive care at the Vets all week, and is back with us for the weekend. He is still very poorly, and like a lot of hogs this year, has a massive lungworm infestation.

His breathing is very laboured with Tachypnoea, and at one stage this afternoon we thought we were going to lose him.

He is on our ‘Red List’ for care, and both our vet and ourselves are giving him every chance we can to help him pull through.

He had eaten all his food when we checked him earlier this morning and is looking fine, so will be released after a couple of days observation.
