After going for nine days without any new hoglets coming in, we were beginning to think the rush of autumn juveniles was over.
Not so! We have had 2 new arrivals this afternoon and another at 10pm this evening. They weigh between 240g and 300g, but sadly one has a very badly broken back leg so his fate hangs in the balance, but if the secondary infection is not too deep he will have the leg removed later tonight. We will keep you updated about him tomorrow.
The other two are settled into their winter homes and will be treated for internal parasites etc tomorrow after we have checked faecal samples.
Please remember to look out for underweight hedgehogs in the coming weeks. The longer they are left out in the cold, the lower their chances of surviving.
