Sad News

Very sad news I’m afraid. The little hoglet that came in yesterday with the broken leg has had to be euthanised.

He had an open fracture to his right side back leg, which was also massively infected.

The vet removed the leg yesterday evening in an effort to save him but he deteriorated over night due to the infection, which had entered his abdomen via the hip, so we took the decision to put him to sleep this morning.

At least he was warm and comfortable at the end, rather than left out to linger in the cold for days on end.

You can see the bone sticking out of his leg in the photo below WARNING – Graphic!
