Hamworthy Hedgehog Rescue

Tracy picked this little guy up from Wimborne today, after builders disturbed his nest while doing groundworks for a new extension.

He is quite poorly, with a heavy lungworm burden, respiratory infection and is infested with ticks and lice, plus being underweight for hibernation, so he may not have lasted much longer out in the cold I think.

He has had a hibiscrub bath to remove some of the lice, had the ticks removed, has had lungworm treatment and antibiotics for his chest infection.

Food, warmth and TLC for him, and hope for the best.

Tracy making sure to scrub Woden’s Belly to help remove lice.

Here are some photos of some of the hogs being released, ably assisted by young Oliver and his mum Sandra.
