Hamworthy Hedgehog Rescue

Brothers

We had a call about two hogs in a garden, one making funny noises and the other seemed to be falling ‘like a drunk’. Tracy went and picked them up, and took them straight to our vet.

Unfortunately, one of them died overnight at the vets from head and face injuries, while the other one came home and was placed into one of our ICU/Incubators. He has avery bad respiratory infection, is very dehydrated, underweight and very weak.

He was given warm SC fluids and offered food and water. I checked a faecal sample under the microscope and found he had lungworm and roundworm, so he is being treated for both of those as well as having a course of antibiotics.
