Hamworthy Hedgehog Rescue

Open trench

We received a call via the RSPCA about a hog trapped in a trench in Douglas Road, Upton. Luckily he was sat on a very small ledge, just above the water level. We fished him out with a net and brought him home for some food and to warm up.

We collected another hog from Upton Vets with a broken pelvis. This chap will have several weeks of cage rest so that the break (which is not a bad one) can repair itself.

The phone has been going all day – it’s one of those days!

Here are some photos of some of the hogs being released, ably assisted by young Oliver and his mum Sandra.
