Hamworthy Hedgehog Rescue

Trapped in netting

Another entry this evening, a young adult female hog – Found trapped in netting. Has garrotte wound to neck, very dehydrated, with massive tick infestation. Her left hind leg is missing (old injury).

She has had 80ml of subcut fluids for the dehydration and shock. I spent over an hour picking ticks off, but she was getting a bit stressed by this, so we have placed her in a cage with a heat mat, food and water.

We will leave her alone for the night now, and see how she is in the morning.
