This 178g male hoglet came in to us today from Blandford. He was very dehydrated, covered in flystrike, including maggots, and his underside was matted with dried pus. The skin on his belly is all thickened and oozing pus.
He was given a hibiscrub bath, and as much of the dried pus and infected skin as possible was sloughed off. The flystrike was removed, and the skin cleaned.
He has been given s/c fluids and antibiotics, and is now in one of the ICU’s.
