Tanya

This is Tanya, a juvenile female hog weighing 370g that was found in the road during daytime. Looks to have been had by a dog or fox, and has an injury to left side of face and left eye blown and white/opaque. She was also very dehydrated.

She was given subcutaneous fluids and the area around her eye was cleaned up. She is having regular treatments of eye drops to prevent her eyeball from drying out, but we think she will end up losing the eye.

She is currently in an ICU, but could be moved into a normal cage today or tomorrow. She is eating and drinking well, and should make a good recovery, albeit probably blind in one eye.
