Hamworthy Hedgehog Rescue

Surprised volunteer

One of our volunteers, Stephanie, had a bit of a surprise while cleaning out cages today, two new hoglets less than 12 hours old. Luckily mum was brought in to us after being found laying out in daytime, covered in ticks.

Mum is an elderly lady, and given her weak condition and the time of year, it is doubtful that these babies would have survived in the wild.

We will keep a close eye on mum and babies in case intervention is required.

Many thanks to Rob Lee, another one of our volunteers, for the photos.
